Francesca Perazzolo

My dance journey started a local dance school directed by Melania Durca in Ferrara, Italy, where I studied Ballet, Neoclassical and Contemporary (Graham) for 14 years. In 2014 I moved to Leeds (United Kingdom) to train at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where I completed a Bachelor Honours in Performing Arts. There, I have studied contemporary techniques such as Cunningham, Release, Floorwork as well as Improvisation, Bodymind Learning, Feldenkrais and Yoga. I also performed choreographies by Tiia Ourila (Mad Dogs), Jamaal Burkmar (Extended Play Dance), Gavin Coward (Ballet Llorent) e Tamsin Fitzgerald (2Faced Dance Company) at Riley Theatre. I took part at site specific performances by Susanne Thomas (Seven Sisters) at Temple Newsham Estate e Harewood House in Leeds.
In 2018 I continued my studies with a Master in Dance Performance and Professional Practice at the University of Salford (Manchester), where I became member of Emergence Dance 18-19, a postgraduate dance company under the artistic direction of Joss Arnott. We toured nationally a double bill by Joss Arnott and Sharon Watson (Phoenix Dance Theatre).
In the same year, I danced a work by Paolo Soloperto “Let Me Speak First”, an improvised scored-based solo about the DID (multiple personality disturb).
During my training I took workshops and masterclasses with Kerry Nicholls, Hagit Yakira, Jos Baker, Akram Kahn Company, James Cousin Company among many others.
Back in Italy, in 2020 I have co-founded Dare To Share, a contemporary dance collective under 35, with whom I performed “Fatamorgana” at Corpo Mobile Festival at Teatro Città (Rome, Italy) in 2021 and “Mind the Gap” at Teatro Della Polvere (Foggia, Italy) in 2022.
I keep deepening my studies and choreographic language with intensive and workshops such as Gaga technique with Batsheva Dance Company, Floorwork with the duo Mualem/De Filippis, contemporary with Simona Bertozzi, Rozenn Corbell, Diana Florindi, Compagnia Atacama, Adriana Boriello. With the latter, I danced “Corpo Antropologico” at the Festival Le Danzatrici in Ruvo di Puglia, Bari in 2021.
